The harpsichords
manufactured in our workshop are the result of a research carried
out over several years with the collaboration of Mr. Jesper
B. Christensen. The task of this work has been to ricreate the sound
of the gravicembali used from the half of the XVIIth to the early
XVIIIth centuries; we have drawn inspiration from the instruments
with two or three registers made by such builders as Giusti, Mondini,
Zenti and Migliai. The results are excellent. Our customers are
the main evidence of the success of our instruments. Every part
of our cembali is executed entirely in the workshop, making use
of the best wood to be found today and used in former times: cypress
from Tuscany, spruce from Val di Fiemme, walnut and others indigenous
woods such as boxwood, chestnut, beech and poplar. For gilding we
use only 23 carat gold leaf. Decoration and paintings are work of
E.B. Lanzoni. The hight cost of the finest woods and the extreme
care in details and finishes (tuning pins are still hand hammered)
does not allow us to make low cost instruments. Nevertheless the
aim we pursue is to give the best possible result at a reasonable
price. Let's Know yours requirements and budget; we'll try, if possible,
to build up for you a very hight quality cembalo.
